Etsy Data Access Explanation

StuffOps is a seller operations platform for Etsy sellers. This page explains what access StuffOps requests and why.

Data categories requested

• Shop profile basics: to identify and label the connected Etsy shop.
• Listings and inventory: to monitor product health and operations.
• Receipts/orders and transactions: to support order visibility and reconciliation.
• Shipping addresses: to support order fulfillment, shipping workflows, and customer service follow-up.
• Payments metadata (where available): to improve reporting and trend visibility.

OAuth scopes requested

• shops_r: read shop profile data
• listings_r: read listing and inventory-related listing data
• transactions_r: read receipts/orders, transactions, and payment-related resources available through approved API access
• address_r: read shipping address data needed for fulfillment and order support workflows
• listings_w: create and edit listings only through explicit listing workflows that the seller initiates or approves
• transactions_w: submit fulfillment and tracking updates only through explicit shipping workflows that the seller initiates or approves

Write scopes are used only when a StuffOps feature explicitly needs Etsy write actions, such as seller-approved listing updates or shipping tracking notifications.

How StuffOps protects data

• OAuth tokens are stored server-side and encrypted at rest.
• Tokens and secrets are not exposed to the browser intentionally.
• Sensitive values are redacted from logs.
• Connection data is scoped per merchant/account in app storage.

Disconnect behavior

You can disconnect Etsy at any time in the Etsy Connection Center. See Data Deletion for details.

CSV fallback handling

Some Etsy data categories may not be available through approved Open API access. For those, StuffOps supports seller-initiated CSV imports from official Etsy seller exports and labels the source as Imported from Etsy CSV. StuffOps does not scrape Etsy pages or bypass Etsy API access rules.
